The epitome of Filipino culture is keeping traditions passed down from generation to generation, especially when it comes to celebrations during the Christmas season. Now in its 15th year, the Festival of Lights by Ayala Land has become the tradition of families, friends, and members of the community, further solidifying Makati’s reputation as the premier Christmas destination in the country.
Through innovative technology and interactive installations, the Festival of Lights created an immersive experience in the Ayala Triangle Gardens. This was made possible by using mappable LED lights, and video-mapped floor projections, which showcased the spirit of innovation that Ayala Land and Makati are known for.
This is further reinforced with a second installation called “Wish Upon a Light”, which allowed people to write their wishes on an interactive screen that was projected on a green wall in the middle of the gardens. The third installation is a larger-than-life piece entitled "Liter of Light", a collaborative effort with Art House and designed by the artist Leeroy New, which used solar-powered lanterns made of recycled water bottles.
By curating a diverse range of experiences, from the mesmerizing lights and sound show to the various interactive installations within the Ayala Triangle Gardens, Makati sought to create emotional connections with its audience, strengthen brand loyalty, increase visits, and establish the city as a must-visit holiday destination in the Philippines.
