Pet Pet Wish

Created by Weibo Yang, Pet Pet Wish is an enchanting art installation housed at L’Avenue in Shanghai, celebrating the emotional bond between humans and their pets. Featuring the mall’s signature character, Lapin, the project draws on heartfelt pet stories to design a space that reflects the comfort, joy, and companionship animals bring into everyday life. Beyond aesthetic charm, the installation thoughtfully connects with the growing pet economy while nurturing a welcoming and emotionally resonant shopping environment.

The design makes strategic use of L’Avenue’s architectural features to guide visitors through a warm and engaging journey. At the outdoor plaza in Hongqiao Gubei, a 7-meter-tall cat stands as the visual anchor of the installation—its half-closed eyes and poised posture striking a balance between calm and playfulness. This towering figure invites interaction and has quickly become a favorite photo spot for shoppers. Inside the atrium, the mood shifts to a homey holiday setting, where a charming pet sculpture bends a Christmas tree in mischief. Surrounding this central scene are details like soft felt leaves, dangling yarn balls, and a curious orange cat reaching for a star, each element reinforcing the cozy, lighthearted tone of the installation. A palette of warm yellows accented with magenta and teal infuses the space with comfort and festive cheer, turning the mall into a seasonal destination that evokes nostalgia, joy, and a shared love for pets.
