As a Principal Data Scientist at Nike, I lead a Research & Development team harnessing AI in Fitness & Wellness, and serve as a strategic advisor to Nike's Global Tech AIML organization, driving Governance & Responsible AI initiatives. Currently, I am spearheading the development of Nike's pioneering 'AI Coach' prototype, delivering personalized coaching guidance tailored to individual athletes' goals, at the forefront of AI and Sport Science innovation. My previous roles at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and American Express (Amex) have equipped me with extensive experience in building scalable Machine Learning infrastructure in heavily regulated industries. My interest in MLOps began at Amex, where I led the development & optimization of next-gen response modeling framework (ROME), deploying 86 distributed XgBoost ML models and processing ~8TB of data using Spark Scala for customer targeting decisions. This experience enabled me to lead projects for top healthcare and financial services based customers at AWS Professional Services, exposing me to the challenges of adopting AI and ML technologies in compliance-heavy environments, including transitioning AI/ML workloads, ensuring compliance, and optimizing Cloud technologies for MLOps.
