Derived from the Japanese word for “angels,” Tenshey is on a mission to accelerate diversity, equity & inclusion (DEI) in the workplace through ERG Leadership Accelerator Programs, Sponsorship Programs, and Executive Coaching. As a certified women- and minority-owned business enterprise (W/MBE), Tenshey champions DEI by harnessing the power of Sponsorship. Emerging leaders are often being over-mentored and under-sponsored. Mentorship programs are beneficial yet lack the data-driven proof points necessary to propel more women and underrepresented leaders into executive leadership positions.
Tenshey launched its first formal Sponsorship Program with Dell Technologies in late 2019 and has since launched programs across several Fortune 500 companies in tech, finance, marketing, telecommunications, and advertising. Across all of its Sponsorship Programs, Tenshey has seen an 83% retention rate and a 38% promotion rate. These numbers reflect the idea that when employees feel that they are being invested in through career development opportunities, they experience a greater sense of belonging and inclusion. The programs have been impactful for the company in that it has been able to build an even wider Tenshey community and has gained tremendous insights into the challenges and struggles women and underrepresented leaders face in the workplace. Tenshey's work is just beginning, and the encouraging results seen so far lead to the belief that if similar Sponsorship programs are implemented at scale throughout the industry, there will be improvements like never seen before.
Tenshey was founded to help more women and underrepresented leaders unlock their potential because of the professional experiences of its Founder & CEO Maggie Chan Jones. Maggie was the first female Global Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at the German multinational company SAP. She has since embarked on several more milestones, including becoming a Board of Director for BT Group (which provides global security, cloud, and networking services to multinational companies worldwide), and a Board of Director for the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA), the national governing body for tennis in the United States.
