There's No Place Like Home

The closing networking event for the PCMA Business Summit 2026 transformed Distrito T-Mobile in San Juan into an immersive celebration of Puerto Rico's culture. More than 700 attendees—meeting planners, designers, and hospitality leaders from around the world—enjoyed exclusive access to the venue before gathering for a surprise theatrical finale.
The objective was simple yet ambitious: position Puerto Rico as a world-class destination for meetings and events by creating an unforgettable experience that could only happen on the Island.
Design Pop conceived, wrote, and produced a 15minute original immersive jukebox musical celebrating Puerto Rico through the universal language of music. Blending theatrical storytelling, cinematic immersive multimedia and choreography, the production guided audiences through the Island's musical evolution—from its Indigenous Taíno and African roots to the emergence of Bomba and Plena, the rise of Salsa and the Nuyorican movement, and ultimately Puerto Rico's influence on today's global Latin music scene.
To connect with an international audience, authentic Puerto Rican rhythms were fused with over 40 globally recognized pop classics, creating a joyful cultural exchange that encouraged guests to participate rather than simply observe. The finale celebrated the generations of Puerto Rican artists, athletes, scientists, entrepreneurs, and innovators whose achievements have shaped the Island's global identity, while reminding audiences that Puerto Rico's greatest treasure is its people—their warmth, resilience, generosity, and infectious spirit.
The production exceeded expectations by transforming a closing show into the Summit's defining networking experience. During an interactive salsa lesson, hundreds of attendees enthusiastically learned the choreography together before performers invited guests into a traditional Puerto Rican conga line that quickly grew to encompass the entire plaza. In moments, spectators became participants, colleagues became dance partners, and networking became genuine human connection.
The audience didn't simply watch Puerto Rican culture—they lived it. By the end of the evening, the experience had transformed a multicultural audience into a shared celebration, leaving attendees inspired to imagine Puerto Rico not only as a destination to visit, but as the setting for their own future meetings and events.
