Every great business begins with courage, sometimes found in unlikely places such as a mother’s kitchen table at midnight. For many mom entrepreneurs in Davao City, that courage has been present, but market opportunities have been scarce. A decade ago, Ayala Malls Abreeza recognized this need not simply as a retail gap but as a calling to uplift a community whose ambitions often unfold while raising families. From this vision, Mompreneur Fair was created.
Launched in 2014, the fair was set out to honor mothers who build both homes and businesses with equal dedication. Except for a brief pause during the pandemic, it has become an annual tradition that champions inclusion and economic participation. Its sustained impact is evident, with 64% of mompreneurs in the 2025 fair returning from 2024.
From May 7-11, Mompreneur Fair 2025 gathered 30 entrepreneurs showcasing handmade creations, specialty foods, and beauty and lifestyle essentials. Each mompreneur received a dedicated selling space, prime mall visibility, and expanded support through Abreeza’s social media ecosystem and influencer collaborations. Combined digital efforts reached more than 218,000 users and generated more than 41,000 engagements, giving entrepreneurs valuable exposure beyond walk-in shoppers.
The fair delivered remarkable results with over PHP 3,000,000 in total sales (USD 51,000) and increased mall foot traffic by 3%. The uplift was driven by event-focused promotions and Mother’s Day activities in partnership with community experts, including a dried flower arranging workshop led by Mommy Ara of Sozen Fleurs and a mother-and-child cookie decorating session by the Alliance of Mindanao Bakers. The Mission Possible for Mom human claw challenge also drew enthusiastic crowds.
Beyond the numbers, the fair’s true success lies in the long-term growth and transformations it has sparked. Brands like Maxi Mango, The Dough Story, and Buko Pie Station grew from small booths into regular mall merchants. Others, like AB Bakery and The Gathered Shoppe, have gained new B2B connections through the event.
Mompreneur Fair 2025 affirms that when mothers are given visibility and support, they do more than succeed. They lift families, strengthen communities, and create ripples of change that continue well beyond the event.
