Tommy Mello, Founder and CEO of A1 Garage Door Service, has redefined what’s possible in the home services industry through vision and innovation. Originally from Detroit, Tommy moved to Phoenix in 1999 and launched A1 in 2007 while completing his master’s degree in business at the University of Arizona. What began with $50,000 in debt has grown into North America’s largest independently owned garage door company, generating more than $250 million in annual revenue and employing 1,000+ team members across 36 markets in 18 states.

In 2024 alone, he personally donated more than $1 million to nonprofits nationwide and regularly volunteers with organizations. One notable act of kindness came when he learned of a family with twin daughters, one battling cancer. In addition to donating a new garage, he surprised the family with a $10,000 donation for their education.

His Amazon best-selling book Home Service Millionaire and The Home Service Expert podcast share insights to help other entrepreneurs succeed.
