LIFE AT LAIKA

Academy Award® Nominated stop-motion studio LAIKA was deep in production on its latest feature, Wildwood—a film years in the making that required hundreds of artists, technicians, and craftspeople both on set and behind the scenes. The process is painstaking, frame by frame, and as production accelerated, LAIKA faced a critical challenge: they needed to expand their team quickly to stay on schedule.

Working closely with LAIKA internal marketing department, Little Rumble was invited to co-create a series of six employee-spotlight films (one yet to be released) that would serve as powerful recruitment tool while authentically reflecting LAIKA’s culture and craft.

The mission was clear: make the films educational, personal, approachable, on-brand, and cinematic. Each short would highlight a different employee, giving potential hires a genuine look at the artistry and community that power LAIKA’s world-class storytelling.

Little Rumble collaborated closely with LAIKA’s marketing team across eight weeks of strategy and script development, three weeks of on-campus production with a seven-person crew, and five months of post-production, including editing, motion graphics, and color grading.

The resulting series is both heartfelt and strategic—intimate portraits that humanize the brand, celebrate the people behind the creative spirit, and attract new creative talent to the world of Wildwood.
