In May 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General declared loneliness and isolation a public health crisis, citing their health risks as comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day. Nowhere is this more urgent than in the military, where suicide continues to claim more lives than combat. In 2022 alone, 492 service members died by suicide. These are not isolated mental health events—they are symptoms of social disconnection. Most training programs focus on awareness, not belonging. We created Stories and Wisdom to fill that gap: building trust, empathy, and emotional safety where it matters most—inside the team.
