SOLANA

The 16th SOLANA Lighting Festival took place in Beijing from December 2023 to March 2024. The festival's theme, "Let There Be Light," was brought to life through a collaboration between SOLANA, Orange Studio, and the authorized use of designs by Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí. Together, they presented an artistic light show using innovative color and light gradient technology. This unique light show combined the visual characteristics of Pop Art with creative lighting design, offering an immersive experience for visitors. Backed by light and shadow gradient technology, these artists created dynamic effects that gave the space a sense of movement. These light and shadow elements complemented the vibrant colors and repetitive patterns of Pop Art, forming a visually engaging language. The light installations blended with both indoor and outdoor spaces, allowing for scene transitions that created different ambiences. At times, they simulated a time tunnel, while at other times, they presented a sort of surreal artistic imagery. The use of bold neon colors and patterns added to the visual impact, reminding viewers of the optimism associated with pop art. The fusion of collage technique further added a touch of deconstruction and reflection, subverting the traditional way of presenting a light show. This fusion of pop aesthetics and light art offered the audience a fresh perspective to explore the intersection of these two artistic realms. Whether viewed from a sheer lifestyle or commercial standpoint, there was no doubt that this light show event added attraction and vitality to the area.
