At TrueBlue, we aspire to create and sustain an organizational-wide culture for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) that will support and foster an environment that is open and accepting of individual differences, where all employees are encouraged to maximize their potential, and exhibit a commitment to our company, community and clients.This year at TrueBlue, we have increased our resources to ensure that all employees working together help to create an inclusive environment. How we are making this happen is through employee resource groups, mentoring programs and a new podcast series called “Beyond Differences” that highlights an employee at TrueBlue that is making an impact in the DE&I arena. The Chief Diversity Officer also reports directly to the CEO at TrueBlue meaning that the whole operation is being overseen by top-level management. The CEO also participates in the DE&I Council meetings. The TrueBlue Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council is an employee-based group of trusted peers and leaders within the organization that lead cultural change initiatives across multiple service lines and functional areas. The DE&I Council helps to develop and execute best practices for fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace to create spaces for people to have a feeling of belonging. This allows employees to become deeply integrated into the decision-making processes, which enables TrueBlue to meet its business and performance objectives.We have also launched a DE&I specific track to our Global Mentorship Program which can pair a mentee to a mentor who may want to learn more about a different (or the same) ethnicity. We heard from a recent mentee that going through this DE&I track of being paired with a mentor who “looked like her" and came from the same background was motivating and inspiring for her to complete the program.
