OYO was founded by Ritesh Agarwal, one of the first Asian residents to be accepted to the Thiel Fellowship (started by Paypal founder Peter Thiel). OYO is a global platform that aims to empower entrepreneurs and small businesses with hotels and homes by providing full-stack technology products and services that aim to increase revenue and ease operations; bringing easy-to-book, affordable, and trusted accommodation to customers around the world. OYO has storefronts in more than 35 countries including India, Europe, and Southeast Asia. The company has developed a unique two-sided technology platform focused on comprehensively addressing key pain points of our hotel owners (being the owners, lessors, and/or operators of storefronts listed on the OYO platform) on the supply side and our customers (being travelers and guests who book accommodations at owner’s storefronts through OYO platform) on the demand side. OYO customers can book rooms in storefronts (hotels & homes) through OYO’s own D2C channels and through indirect channels with third-party OTAs. The OYO App offers a variety of digital tools to guide customers throughout their journey, including discovery, seamless booking, pre-stay assistance, cancellations, digital check-ins as well as in-stay and post-stay services. For its asset owners, OYO brings its proprietary technology, the CO OYO app, that helps hotel owners operate their properties remotely from anywhere and at any time. It’s the only app that is the powerhouse of property management and revenue growth in the world. Through CO OYO app, hotel owners can control the prices of their properties, track daily performance, check customer ratings, and enhance visibility of their
properties on the OYO App.
