Project Description
Project Description for Judges
Question 1 : Provide a brief description / background of your nominated organizational, departmental, team, or individual circumstance. (Your response to this question will be used for public display if your entry is awarded.)
Husband-and-wife team Jai and Ashleigh Oliver have transformed a struggling AV business from a $14,800 loss in FY23 into a $5.6million industry leader in FY25. Infinite AV Solutions specialises in the supply, installation and servicing of advanced display technologies, including digital signage displays, projectors, audiovisual solutions and even taxi systems! Their new taxi system at St Gabriel's school now enables students to get out of the school in 15 minutes, compared to the previous 40 minutes. And that’s what tech is about to Jai and Ashleigh: client benefits, not the product itself. History In 2019, Jai started the business hand-delivering flyers to homes, targeting small residential AV solutions. After winning their first business contract in 2020, they pivoted to serve this market, seeing the scale potential. Still a one-van operation, Jai brought on his first employee, his wife Ashleigh, in 2022. By 2023, the business was generating $996,000 in revenue but incurred a loss of $14,800. With their strategic focus and growing reputation in the business market, they quickly turned this around, posting $2,700,000 revenue and $109,900 profit in 2024, and growing this to over $5.5 million revenue and $381,640 in 2025. This is set against the backdrop of an industry growing at a rate of just 5-7% per annum. In 2024, Infinite AV also established two related businesses, iLED Solutions and TechOut, to expand its end-to-end supply chain and enhance its offering to existing and new clients. See Q2 for more information (pg2-3). The company now has six vehicles, nine employees and installs in four States. It has now successfully delivered over 2,500 projects to Australian education (50%), government and corporate (50%) clients, including NRMA Insurance, Australian Border Force, Mercedes-Benz and NSW Police (pg4). Their independent education market share increased from 2% to 30%. One client’s first invoice was for $693 for equipment service. They’ve since billed over $1 million in revenue, with regular invoices over $120,000. Their growth also comes from happy clients who proactively refer, ie Suttons Trucks has referred eight companies, and marketing to independent schools.
Question 2 : Outline your nominated organizational, departmental, team, or individual achievements, dated 1-3 years prior, based on your selected categories.
Exceptional growth Since mid-2022, Infinite has achieved: 7,929% increase in revenue to $5.6million versus industry average growth of 5-7% pa. 350% team growth. 1500% growth in education clients to 44 schools, and added 142 corporate clients. In March, the company secured its largest order with the Crown Institute for $770,000. Vertical integration Last year, the company embarked on an industry-first vertical integration strategy: It launched Infinite Solutions (iLED) (pg2), working closely with offshore manufacturers to produce LED walls at 20% less than their competitors sell them for, while maintaining quality control and customising orders to client needs. They’ve installed theatre, entrance and basketball court LED installations at seven colleges, and road, window and outdoor LED advertising signage for numerous other clients. iLEDs achieved $132,000 in revenue in its first year, 2024, and is projected to reach $500,000 in 2025 (279% growth). The company also launched TechOut (pg3), an e-commerce platform that streamlines online product purchases and offers bundle pricing. Infinite recruited a full-time employee to spearhead TechOut’s growth, which generated $3,800 last year and is projected to bill $200,000 this year, representing 5,163% growth. Infinite also introduced servicing agreements for equipment checks, ongoing servicing and software updates for all clients. Eg: they recently completed a full firmware update for a major client, proactively identifying bugs before they became an issue. They also recently hired an on-site programmer who identifies any issues or extra requirements before handover. Geographic growth For the first time this year, Infinite completed installations outside NSW (in four different Australian States) and is establishing a permanent presence in Queensland. This future-proofs its growth by positioning the company at the centre of Queensland’s booming education and corporate markets, creating new opportunities for scale and long-term sustainability. They also moved to a dedicated warehouse and doubled their fleet of technicians’ vans, doubling their deployment capabilities. Recognition Infinite was crowned 2024 Australian Achiever Awards NSW’s State Winner for AV Services, with a customer satisfaction score of 98.4%, and the 2025 Stevie International Business Award for Achievement in Growth (pg6).
Question 3 : Provide examples of the strategies / plans you have introduced, in order to attain your nominated organizational, departmental, team, or individual achievements. Explain why the highlighted achievements are significant / unique.
A family-owned business, Infinity focused on a vertical integration strategy to create multiple revenue streams and established in-house premium service capabilities to set itself apart. 1. Outpacing competitors & industry Infinite has outpaced the industry (5-7% vs 107% last year) and its peers, achieving growth much faster: Xcite AV: Established 2010, $14.2million revenue. Infinite recently won a $200,000 contract against Xcite. Syndeticom: Established 1992, $15.5million revenue Entirely bootstrapped, the company has financed its growth by reinvesting its revenues, without resorting to business loans or withdrawals from its directors' personal funds, supported by its 95% client retention rate, 75% repeat customers, and 20% more forward-booked revenue this year than last. 2. Diversification through vertical integration Establishing two separate, related businesses and a servicing arm has allowed Infinite to develop a presence across product manufacturing, supply and installation/support. The company now: Generate revenue from each stage of the product lifecycle; Plays a greater role in end-to-end quality control; Delivers substantial cost savings to clients as the end-users, up to 40% on hardware and 20% on custom LED walls. These businesses have delivered $496,000 in additional revenue and positioned Infinite for rapid growth. Additionally, TechOut streamlines Infinite’s operations by effectively outsourcing small-volume product orders, which our bigger competitors don’t offer. 3. In-house installation Infinite directly employs installation technicians, while its competitors mostly use independent contractors (pg7-12). This incurs a substantial cost, but it provides a superior customer experience through Infinite’s exacting training and standards, and familiarity with the team and projects gained over time. Clients have cited this as a deciding factor in awarding the Infinite contracts over its competitors. This direct employment model also creates high staff retention and loyalty, providing their technicians with a clear career pathway, not adhoc work. From custom AV school bus announcement systems designed to make end-of-day pickups smooth and fun, to pub AVs, to classrooms, churches and local Councils, Infinite AV Solutions also uniquely backs every project with a 100% satisfaction guarantee (see Q4 and client testimonials pg13-17).
Optional Context for Judges (Not for publication. This section is solely for judges' evaluation.)
Infinite AV Solutions backs every project with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. This means they don’t consider a project complete until our client is delighted with the outcome. Their dedicated in-house technicians provide personalised handover training, ongoing support, and servicing agreements to ensure the long-term performance of their equipment. With a customer satisfaction score of 98.4% at the 2024 Australian Achiever Awards based on client interviews and perfect 5-star Google reviews, their guarantee is not just a promise; it’s proven in the market. They have also secured 23% forward-booked revenue this year, building predictable, sustainable growth and achieved 95% client retention in schools and many repeat customers, demonstrating strong relationships and ongoing trust.
