She is currently a Principal Engineer at Arista Networks, a pioneers in software-driven cloud networking solutions, where she leads the design and development of critical features in CloudVision, a highly scalable distributed solution for data centers network orchestration.

Apeksha has been an Engineering Lead at Amazon, where she led an engineering team in the People Experience Technology division, and built the infrastructure services for Amazon’s highly scalable and high-performance HR system for managing its extensive workforce worldwide. In addition to her technical leadership, Apeksha has expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, cross-functional team collaboration, driving innovation, setting technical direction, and outlining product roadmap.

During her global professional tenure, Apeksha has held leading and critical roles where she has led teams and projects and delivered customer-impacting solutions. Professional Achievement: (CONFIDENTIAL) As an Engineering Lead at Amazon, Apeksha led a team of 10+ engineers in the People Experience Technology division, and developed an advanced low-code, user-centric, model-driven HR solution for Amazon powered by AWS Cloud services. The solution solved complex people management use cases for the scale of Amazon and enabled thousands of teams within Amazon to create low-code and cost-effective HR workflows for managing Amazon’s global workforce of 1.5+ million employees across 60+ countries. Her leadership improved customer teams’ efficiency by 30% and over 30,000 customers onboarded to the services she built. She played an influential role in ensuring security, privacy compliance, and operational readiness of services launched across cross-functional teams of 40+ engineers. Apeksha was an Operational Bar Raiser at Amazon, a unique and influential position at Amazon responsible for launching reliable, scalable, and performant services.

Industry contributions: Apeksha has served as a hackathon judge in ReverieHacks for Gen AI projects, Techrity Hackathon, held in Africa, where she evaluated large-scale solutions in Climate, Education, and Healthcare, gave a talk in their twitter space on Building Scalable Solutions, and in AWS hackathon at Wellesley College, where she also served as a career panelist.

As a Senior member of IEEE, Apeksha authored a paper on state management and was a speaker at the  IEEE UEMCON 2024 conference in NY. She has reviewed AI and distributed applications papers for the CCWC 2025 conference and serves as a reviewer for esteemed journals, including the Journal of Computer and Communications. She mentors tech professionals to help them navigate their careers, improve their system design and interview skills. She was recognized as a top 1% mentor in ADPList in 2024.

Notable achievements: Apeksha is the Global Ambassador for Empowering Women In Tech Alliance (EWTA), Boston location. She shares her insights with women in tech, supports them, and mentors them. She has featured on several podcasts on this topic including EWTA and VectoScalar, India.

She is awarded the International Achievers Award for excellence in her field, showcasing her global impact.

While leading her team in Amazon, Apeksha significantly elevated the standards of Privacy and Security compliance across the services in her organization. She not only led compliance efforts for her own team but also developed step-by-step mechanics to guide sister teams within the broader organization achieve compliance. This compliance is critical for protecting employees' data from breaches and unauthorized access. Apeksha introduced a comprehensive guideline outlining the integration of security and privacy considerations early in the software development lifecycle. This proactive approach facilitated early compliance and minimized delays in launching new services.

Apeksha raised the bar of operational standards for the services owned by her team. She conducted sessions, encouraged mindset shifts, and emphasized the importance of operational readiness during the architecture, design, and development phases. Before her involvement, engineers often perceived operational readiness as an overwhelming task that could delay or block launches. Higher operational standards reduce post-launch operational costs for the company. Apeksha developed a comprehensive guideline outlining key considerations for service specifications, dependency management, performance, scalability, deployment, and operations. This guideline became a foundation for achieving operational success within the organization.

Apeksha has mentored tech professionals and has guided them in developing structured strategies to enhance their technical and behavioral interview skills, with a focus on excelling in interviews for top-tier tech companies. Apeksha has helped professionals use the STAR methodology for behavioral skills in interviews.

Apeksha has mentored women in tech, focusing on empowering them to balance their personal and professional lives through effective prioritization. In her podcasts with EWTA and Vectoscalar, India, she has highlighted the significance of resilience, prioritization skills, continuous learning, and staying updated with the latest technology. This is important because women in tech often face unique challenges in balancing their professional and personal responsibilities. Addressing topics like prioritization, resilience, and continuous learning provides them with actionable strategies to navigate these challenges effectively.
