His expertise in development and design has consistently resulted in successful initiatives that reflect a keen understanding of diverse market dynamics and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Sumit brings with him 18 years of extensive experience in the IT industry, characterized by a keen eye for innovation, sustainability, and excellence. His expertise extends to technology, innovation, social impact etc. to name a few, providing him with a well-rounded perspective to assess and execute groundbreaking projects. He is proficient in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies, skilled in leading large teams, and recognized for consistently delivering projects that exceed time and budget expectations. With extensive experience in multi-tier, distributed software development, he specializes in leveraging Machine Learning, IoT, Artificial Intelligence, Microservices, Cloud, Event-Driven Architecture, and client-server models. Notable achievements: 1. Despite being competitors, adidas and Reebok both reaped the benefits of a sophisticated labeling solution developed by Mr. Sumit Bhatnagar. This solution enables both companies to efficiently print their barcodes, resulting in significant cost savings. The shared underlying application streamlined operations and proved to be a substantial success for both entities. 2. Farm Bureau Financial previously operated on a legacy system for calculating agent commissions, which consumed 20 days to complete all processes on their mainframe system. Recognizing the need for improvement, he spearheaded an initiative to modernize the system, leveraging cutting-edge J2EE technologies. As a result, he successfully streamlined the entire cycle, reducing the processing time from 20 days to just 5 days. This accomplishment significantly alleviated the monitoring workload, saving 15 days of effort. Furthermore, he addressed limitations in report generation imposed by the mainframe system. Approximately 500 reports were migrated to more advanced platforms, such as Microsoft SSRS and SAP Crystal Reports, enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of the reporting system. This comprehensive overhaul not only expedited commission calculations but also expanded the range and quality of generated reports, contributing to Farm Bureau Financial's operational efficiency and technological advancement. 3. The platform encountered considerable delays when users with jumbo profiles, defined as those with more than 250 accounts, attempted to log in. The website's prolonged loading time hindered user experience, as it painstakingly loaded all accounts. To alleviate this challenge, he took the initiative to enhance the system. Recognizing the inefficiency of loading all accounts simultaneously, he introduced a strategic solution. Leveraging VmWare Gemfire, he implemented a caching mechanism that allowed the website to load jumbo profiles in under 3 seconds. This not only streamlined the process but also provided users with the convenience of viewing all their accounts on a single page through seamless scrolling. This optimization proved to be a significant triumph for the company, enhancing both user satisfaction and overall system performance.

Why these achievements are significant: 1. adidas and Reebok: Typically, competitors in the same industry strive for exclusivity in their operational strategies to gain a competitive edge. However, in this case, adidas and Reebok's decision to utilize a shared technology solution is a great example of "co-opetition" (cooperative competition). This approach shows that companies can find common ground in shared technologies that improve efficiency and reduce costs, benefiting both without compromising their competitive positions. When major players in a market segment adopt a new technology or process, it often sets a new standard across the industry. Efficient labeling and barcode systems also potentially reduce waste by minimizing errors in shipping and handling, contributing to sustainability efforts. This is increasingly important as companies face pressure to reduce their environmental footprints. 2. Farm Bureau Financials: The legacy system required a staggering 20 days to complete all processes. Sumit's initiative to modernize the system resulted in a drastic reduction in processing time, down to just 5 days. This 75% reduction in processing time has not only expedited commission calculations but has also significantly enhanced operational efficiency. By spearheading the initiative to modernize the system, Sumit leveraged cutting-edge J2EE/Microservices technologies. This technological advancement not only improved efficiency but also ensured that Farm Bureau Financial was no longer reliant on outdated systems, positioning the company at the forefront of technological innovation in the industry. Previously, users with jumbo profiles experienced considerable delays while logging in due to the prolonged loading time. By reducing the loading time to under 3 seconds, users could access their accounts swiftly, which greatly improved user satisfaction.
