Project Description for Judges

At Vistatec, we understand what it takes to be successful on a global scale. We work with industry giants, established brands and new companies going global to create seamless and compelling content journeys and product experiences for global audiences.
Question 1 : Provide a brief description / background of your nominated organizational, departmental, team, or individual circumstance. (Your response to this question will be used for public display if your entry is awarded.)
The Give Thanks program is Vistatec’s employee recognition program to ensure people are engaged with each other and with the business. Vistatec is a global company with more employees worldwide. We have our global headquarters in Dublin, Ireland and the majority of our teams now work remotely. The Human Resources Department found it is essential to build engagement between people who, although they work together every week, might not have met or seen each other in person, outside of video calls. Working in a virtual environment might make an employee feel disconnected from the company values or culture unless successful programs become implemented effectively. Vistatec’s Human Resources Department came up with a series of actions to ensure that employees feel engaged and part of the company no matter where they are. They also considered how much the company appreciates what they do. The Give Thanks program has the capability to: - Create a positive work environment (even virtually). The thank you messages from other colleagues positively influence employees on their satisfaction levels, and they feel the positive influence of appreciative workplace culture. - Inspire high performance. Workplace morale, engagement, and productivity improve when you show appreciation for your employees' work. - Create a culture of recognition where employees feel stimulated and appreciated. We recognize and reward work and behaviors that support/further the mission, goals, values, and initiatives of Vistatec. How does the program work? Any employee can enter the HR Platform with their login details and thank anyone. Human Resources sends reminders at the end of every week by email to promote employee participation. Employees with the highest number of thank you cards/badges receive a special companywide mention and award.

Vistatec would like to recognize our Human Resources Department for its ongoing commitment to supporting the Vistatec culture. We often hear comments that include "everyone is helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable,” in addition to "what I like the most about working in Vistatec are the people." Key members of the department include Siobhán Gantly, CHRO, Dolores Daly, Senior Talent Acquisition & Onboarding Specialist, and Melania Moldovan, HR Assistant. Question 3 : Provide examples of the strategies / plans you have introduced, in order to attain your nominated organizational, departmental, team, or individual achievements. Explain why the highlighted achievements are significant / unique.
Vistatec’s HR Department has implemented the Give Thanks weekly process as something organic for employees through the HR platform. They have built a unique platform where each employee can enter and check everything from national to international holidays (we are a global company) and see when their colleagues might be away), request authorizations, review company notifications changes on organizational charts, thank others, and check what other employees have said about each other or yourself. Each Thank You comment includes a different badge, and each badge endorses the recipient with one or more skills. These badges divide into two categories: Personal Skills · Adaptability · Creativity · Customer Relations · Initiative · Expertise · Passion · Problem Solving · Productivity · Vision Team Skills · Collaboration · Communication · Helpfulness · Leadership · Mentorship · Results · Teaching · Team Building At the end of the year, this is an excellent tool for Human Resources and the employee, who can see his/her/their progress and leading skills.
