What started as a special project to provide safe product alternatives to the Philippines’ massive illegal skin-lightening market, became a hero product, the Hello Glow All-Natural skincare set, for local cosmetics leader, Ever Bilena Cosmetics, Inc. (EBCI). Denice Sy Munez, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer who leads retail and business development strategy, created a new brand , Hello Glow, in February 2020.
The brand sold $6.2M USD net worth in 2020, securing a 0.7% share of the country’s skincare market in the same year (according to Euromonitor May 2021 report). Denice, who is a UC Berkeley alum, is also active in her company’s CSR initiatives, having provided financial aid in the form of reseller packages to EBCI’s 1,800 employees in 2020, plus more others in 2021. Aside from Hello Glow, she has also launched 3 new brands amidst the pandemic, which have helped augment slumping color cosmetics sales during this time.
